CLERK REPORT 10th MAY 2005
APPROVED MINUTE 15/06(b) APPENDICE ONE

  1. Derby Probation Service

    The Clerk contacted the organisation to offer work in the parish. The group representative has visited the area and is able to carry out works at bridleway 94 and bramble clearance to Godkin site, clearance on vacant allotments at Aldercar Lane; tidying of Pottery Lane area. AGREED budget of £250 to cover Probation Service costs.

  2. Railway Site

    The Clerk noticed some Japanese Knotweed growth which has been reported to Plantscape. The site was treated 3rd May 2005. Tree vandalised on site.

  3. Grit Bins Borough Council

    With reference to Minute 185/05(c)(3), a supplementary letter has been received from Borough Council as attached. AGREED write to request further information. The initiative, in principle, was not supported by Council.

  4. Ripley & Heanor Scout District

    Invitation to representative of the Parish Council to attend AGN Wednesday 18th May 2005 at Ripley Scout HQ, Hill Street, Ripley at 8 p.m.

  5. Trafalgar Weekend 21st – 23rd October 2005

    NALC encourages towns and parishes to take part in the celebrations. Booklet available with information.

  6. Members Allowances

    DALC has met with Borough Council, who will shortly be circulating a questionnaire to provide a factual table of current parish membership, population and precept details. This will assist in the introduction of a scale for allowances.

  7. East Midlands Regional Sustainability Appraisal

    Information available at the meeting.

  8. Youth Centre

    Reference email 17th March 2005 confirms the agent acting on behalf of Brown Pestell Limited – unit at Bailey Brook Industrial Estate. Confirmation no movement towards support of proposed facility has been made by the freeholders following negotiation with Derbyshire Constabulary. Confirmation two units recently let, demonstrating a need by commercial users for this type of building. AGREED meeting of Youth Committee to be organised.

  9. Freedom of Information Act 2000

    Copy of recent literature requested from Office of the Deputy Prime Minister attached for Members information.

  10. Council Office

    In order newsletters, publications and posters can be created, the computer maintenance representative has provided quotation for Microsoft Oemkit office XP Pro SP2 with Publisher at a cost of £280.37 including full installation and support. Training for four hours can be organised at a cost of £15 per hour. Competitive price from Atac Computers.The Council is not allowed to use copy discs from other parties. The Council is asked to consider purchase of this equipment with relevant training. AGREED total expenditure of £340.37 nett.

  11. Tree Basket Holder Anchor Lane, Langley Mill

    A report received a tree basket holder originally ordered from Plantscape to be sited at Anchor Lane was installed at Horse & Hockey, Station Road site in December 2004, to replace a vandalised pole. The Clerk reported the site had previously been identified for enhancing with display of baskets, which were due for installation. The Council APPROVED expenditure of £995 plus VAT to purchase an additional pole for siting at Anchor Lane. The Clerk reported an insurance claim has been lodged with Allianz Cornhill.
